Degg's Model

Martin Degg is a lecturer who created this model. It was used in the British Red Cross resource which was mentioned earlier in the blog, and is useful way of thinking about natural hazards as a situation where there is an overlap of the two circles. The other useful model is Park's model. See if you can find a copy of this one in a textbook that you might be using. Both of the models explores the overlap between the cause of the hazard, and the factors that help it to become one, and those that help to reduce the risks involved. OCR Schoology Group

OCR has created two Schoology groups for teachers to network, share ideas and resources for the two GCSE specifications. Schoology has the same sort of functionality as the old Ning groups that have now been shut down, but without the subscription fee which was introduced. All you have to do is sign up to Schoology (it's free ) and join the OCR group for your specification. How to join a Schoology group: 1. Select the “groups” tab at the top of the page. 2.
