Rosario - updates

Currently working on some updates for this chapter / case study - also considering whether to stick with Rosario or switch to another city. I've had a few conversations with people about whether to move to a different city, and trying to work out which one might be the 'best' - on the other hand, I had a colleague say to me recently that their daughter had been using my book and

The question is, do I ditch it and rewrite the whole thing?

The main idea for the cities section is:
What is life like for people who live there?

Bullet points in specification are here:
  • City’s location and importance within its region, the country and the wider world
  • Patterns of national and international migration and how this is changing the growth and character of the city
  • Explore the ways of life in the city - culture, ethnicity, housing, leisure and consumption
This is where the views of residents would be powerful - if these were written as prose they could be turned into talking heads like the ones we have for Leeds which are based on what real people said - I think Margaret Roberts would be happier with that.

Contemporary challenges that affect life in Rosario are difficult to assess from afar, although research suggests some that are typical of many large cities.

Again, we can pick up elements of crime and football related issues, but these might be overplayed in the media and not actually a major problem.
